Black Tea
Smoked Japanese tea - Malt Souchong
Matsumoto san Family has been producing tea in the Shizuoka region for several generations. Samurai, their ancestor, traded his sword for farming tools and started tea production. Today his descendant chooses to create a unique tea. That’s how, after green, black and oolong tea he created the first Japanese smoked teas, exclusively produced from Japanese wood, in condfidential quantity.
This tea is the encounter of two universes, tea and the world renowned, Japanese Whisky. Indeed, Matsumoto san used whisky wood barrel from a famous distillery from Saitama to smoke this black tea. The resulting liquor is incredibly mellow. The roundness of the tea blends with the malty, sweet whisky notes. A one-of-a-kind grand cru.
